Earlier in May, Galantis enthralled dance music’s commercial sector with the release of their second original production of the year, “Hunter.” While the vocal-heavy track was as melodic as fans have come to expect from Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw’s production, its style deviated somewhat from the duo’s standard fare – opting for subdued, broken-beat rhythms as opposed to their typical buoyant house offerings.Given this stylistic aberration, its unsurprising that NGHTMRE and Rickyxsan’s formidable revision of the track has proven to be the standout selection in the official remix EP for “Hunter.” Released Friday, June 2, the duo’s razor-sharp trap rendition leads a four-track collection, which further features a rhythmically dynamic, eastern-influenced contribution from Henry Fong and a straightforward electro house offering from Dutch producer Mike Williams. Following a birthday tradition, versatile producer Mat Zo uploaded his remix of Galantis and Hook N Sling‘s “Love On Me” to SoundCloud on April 30.The original track is upbeat and exceptionally catchy in and of itself, but the British producer has succeeded in making it even more so with his groovy rendition.“As a birthday tradition, I put up some unreleased music,” says Zo of his new track. “I made this as an official remix, but decided to not put it out at the time. Hot off an epic Ultra Music Festival performance, Swedish duo Galantis release their new remix of singer/songwriter/pianist Wrabel‘s “Bloodstain.”Galantis meets Wrabel in electro-pop heaven on their “Bloodstain” remix, which features deeper vocals than the original cut and a new dreamy, scintillating production. Galantis sprinkles their signature exclamations atop Wrabel’s bold vocals, which ultimately guide the track to a warm release.Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw, the duo behind Galantis, have been heating up the remix department as of late. Galantis are true experts in the field of bubbly dance-pop that never fails to put a smile on their fans’ faces. Their talent was recognized by the greater electronic realm early on in their development, leading to a swift climb to becoming one of the most recognized names in the commercial house arena. “Pillowfight,” their jubilant, anthemic clip released in December of last year exemplifies this notion and has since become a widely adored addition to their catalog.The duo have now returned with rising star CID in tow with a brand new, VIP rendition of the original. The collaborative edit leans even more in the dance music, adding heavier kicks into airy mixture of synths and delectable vocals. Its chord progression is switched slightly and takes on a more muddled tone, complimenting extra samples and sound layers also present in the VIP to make “Pillowfight” more appropriate for the peak of a set rather than as a euphoric closer. Ultimately, however, both version shine on their own, and will surely be happily consumed by their fanbase in the coming months. Insomniac announced its latest festival venture in October 2016 – a Medieval/Renaissance-themed affair close to Houston called Middlelands. The event earned a good deal of hype early on, notably for its intriguing promotional video which featured Kristian Nairn of “Hodor” fame and for the fact that the theme closely aligns with the fairytale aspects of Tomorrowworld, which met its demise stateside after it 2015 edition.As its debut at Todd Mission’s Renaissance Fair grounds of May 5 draws closer, Middlelands’ artist roster has now been unleashed unto the public.
