It’s solidly evident that REZZ has been perpetually at work for the duration of her young, yet illustrious career. However, while Isabelle Rezazadeh began her year on a prolific note, her studio output has slowed down over the course of her spring tour. Three months after the release of her last song, “Silent Hill,” REZZ has returned to the airwaves with a remix of “Clear,” by her mau5trap compatriots No Mana and Zashanell.For her revision, Rezazadeh opts to invert the mesmerizing, gradually progressive nature of the original track’s production through an infusion of her razor-edged synthesis and cyclic percussion; however, she doesn’t eliminate the track’s mellifluous essence. Rather, she combines the two seemingly diametric musical forces into an unpredictably complementary whole. Given the Isabelle Rezazadeh’s staggeringly prolific output, it’s difficult to imagine that she has any free time leftover from her surely demanding studio and tour schedule. Today, February 27, the producer shared her newest track, “Silent Hill,” alongside a proclamation to her social media following that she had just finished the game of the same name.It’s easy to see how “Silent Hill” was inspired by the macabre video game. Zeds Dead have established themselves among the biggest names in bass music and beyond over the past several years. From breaking out with their dubstep roots, to riding a daring new wave into future house, to producing hip hop beats with rising rappers, and flexing their skills to master a variety of styles in their debut album, Northern Lights, Dylan Mamid and Zachary Rapp-Roven have remained an iconic duo since 2010.Today, February 10, Zeds Dead released a compilation of nine songs for their Deadbeats record label. In addition to their own new original, “Woman Wine,” the collection includes highlights from artists like REZZ, Megalodon, and Memorecks.Perhaps one of the most memorable tracks on the release is REZZ’s “Matrix,” which we premiered yesterday. The Canadian born artist travels into a new territory of liquid wobbles and dynamic rhythms. The song kicks off with her signature, dark melodies intro, beguiling all ears into assuming the track will be a standard REZZ hit. But the song takes a surprising turn into a drop stacked with heavy, experimental wobbles and intermittent drums. The song is infectious, and shows a new untried side to the rising artist.“Bounce,” contributed by Megalodon, who has been rising to the spotlight in recent years, gives us all a taste of his production’s flexibility and ability to adapt. The producer kicks off the song with a four on the floor beat, amping the energy before dropping it into half-time to his usual bass-heavy style. Entitled “Fourth Impact,” Isabelle Rezazadeh provided fans with a first official glimpse of the k?d partnership in a preview yesterday, February 2. Event Preview Wobbleland 2017 With Snails, JOYRYDE, REZZ, Datsik & More
Every year, there’s one particular event the Bay Area of California really looks forward to. That is the one and only Wobbleland. Held at City National Civic in San Jose, this event sees bassheads flock from all over. With top quality production and lineups that highlight the top up and coming talent, Wobbleland has cemented itself as a go-to event every time it is held. The three day festival is jam-packed with heavy hitters ranging from headliners Snails, Zomboy and Datsik, to artists like JOYRYDE, Kayzo and Party Favor. Those names alone is enough to get excited about, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. With back-to back sets from Jameston Thieves x YOOKiE, KRANE x Alexander Lewis, Luca Lush x Josh Pan and Sam F x Yntendo, Wobbleland is set to be one of the most memorable festivals of 2017.
